Shahid Kapoor to headline Hindi remake of Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Malayalam thriller Mumbai Police
Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is on the remake bandwagon. The actor had a blockbuster hit with Kabir Singh which was Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy but his next remake, Jersey, didn't do well at the box office. While he is also set for Ali Abbas Zafar's next which is also a remake of the French film, Nuit Blanche, he is in advance talks to star in the Hindi remake of Malayalam thriller Mumbai Police. The film originally starred Prithviraj Sukumaran.
As per a report in a media portal, the actor is currently in talks for the project which is being produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur's production house Roy Kapur Films. Rosshan Andrrews, who helmed the original film, will be directing the remake as well. He is currently working on the script with Hindi script writers.
Mumbai Police starred Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jayasurya and Rahman. The casting for the roles of the latter two actors is underway. Meanwhile, the makers are in talks with an actress from the South industry to star opposite Shahid Kapoor.
