Krafton India ropes in Ranveer Singh as BGMI brand ambassador

Krafton India, the company behind the BGMI, has announced a collaboration in India. Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has been named the official brand ambassador for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). 

Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO, Krafton India, expressed his enthusiasm about this partnership, stating, "We are elated to welcome Superstar Ranveer Singh to the BGMI family. With this collaboration, Krafton will launch the Play Pure campaign that aims to celebrate the pure-ness in players through the lens of superstar Ranveer Singh, says the company. As a part of the campaign, BGMI players will be urged to be bold and celebrate their authenticity in the Battlegrounds.

Akshay Kumar's Capsule Gill gets a new title - Mission Raniganj

Following the success of OMG 2, Akshay Kumar is all set to be back to the big screen in the month of October with Tinu Suresh Desai's next film produced by Pooja Entertainment. The latest we hear is that the team of this Jaswant Singh Gill Biopic is all ready to launch the first teaser of the film this week. According to sources close to the development, a 1-minute long teaser will be launched on Akshay Kumar's Birthday - September 9.

"A thrilling edge-of-the-seat teaser of the film is cut and ready to be launched on Akshay Kumar's birthday. It's Khiladi's gift to all the fans," revealed a source close to the development to Bollywood Hungama. According to the source, there has been a title change too for this Jaswant Singh Gill Biopic.

"The team has contemplated several titles over the last few months. The film was initially titled Capsule Gill. But soon after, Jackky Bhagnani decided to change the title to The Great Indian Escape. The film then underwent another change of title to The Great Indian Rescue. And now, finally, they have locked the title Mission Raniganj," the source told Bollywood Hungama further.

The film is ready to release on October 6 across the country and the makers are all charged up to make it another memorable experience for the audience after OMG 2. The teaser will be followed by a trailer and then a song finally leading to the film's release. The film pairs Akshay Kumar with Parineeti Chopra after Kesari.

Jaane Jaan trailer launch: Saif Ali Khan warned Kareena Kapoor Khan about Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat’s acting prowess: “He told me, 'Stop being the backbencher. Aage ke bench mein aake kuch karo'”

The trailer of Jaane Jaan was held at a studio in central Mumbai. The set resembled Kalimpong and it added to the mystery and intrigue. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat attended the fun-filled event along with director Sujoy Ghosh, producers Jay Shewakramani and Akshai Puri and Netflix India Content Head Monika Shergill. The most memorable moment of the trailer launch was when Kareena talked about her hubby Saif Ali Khan’s warning to her.

Before Kareena Kapoor Khan spoke about it, Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat revealed that they were classmates at Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. Kareena was asked if she intimidated them or if was it vice versa. Kareena replied, “They intimidated me! They were quite prepared. Saif had told me, 'It’s not like van se make-up laga kar tum set pe jaake dialogue bologi! Please stop this attitude. You are working with Jaideel Ahlawat and Vijay Varma. Be prepared to be on your toes. They are going to be improvising. It won't be a picnic'. So, he had warned me. Hence, like a student, I was constantly alert. Saif even said, 'Stop being the backbencher. Aage ke bench mein aake kuch karo'. I was like, 'Yeah yeah'!”

Kareena Kapoor Khan continued, “I was constantly watching them. Jaideep is quite prepared and composed. I have realised that Vijay is a bit like me in the sense that he's laughing and all on the set. But all his takes are different from the others. And it’s also very well thought out. Being in this environment, I was also on my toes and I am happy I was. I believe that an actor should constantly be threatened by other actors on the set.”

She then looked at Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat and joked, “Sab aapke baare mein accha bol rahe hai, that you guys went to FTII and all. Mere baare mein bhi kuch accha bolo!”

At this, Jaideep remarked, “Aap kitni bhi tayyari kar ke aa jaao set pe, jab aap Kareena Kapoor ke saamne khade hote ho, jab aap unki aankhon mein dekh ke line bolni padti hai na, toh camera bhi hilne lagta hai! Aadmi chod do aap!”

Vijay added to the laughter as he said, “I want to thank Saif Ali Khan. Agar woh nahin hote, toh (Kareena) ko pata bhi nahin hota (ki main kaun hoon)!”

Trade predicts that Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan can collect Rs. 70 crores on day 1 to become the BIGGEST Hindi film EVER

Shah Rukh Khan’s previous release Pathaan (2023) was released on a non-holiday and collected Rs. 57 crores. On the second day, Republic Day, the collections jumped to Rs. 70.50 crores. Trade experts feel that SRK’s upcoming film, Jawan, which releases on September 7, can cross this record-breaking number.

When asked to predict the first-day number, trade analyst Atul Mohan answered, “In all languages, the film can collect Rs. 70 crores or even Rs. 80 or Rs. 90 crores. Kuch bhi ho sakta hai.” When asked about the Hindi version, he said, “It’ll collect more than Pathaan. The release day will be around Rs. 70 crores.”

Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar exulted, “It’ll collect more than Pathaan. On day 1, it’ll earn between Rs. 65 and 70 crores.”

Raj Bansal, the owner of Entertainment Paradise in Jaipur predicted, “I am expecting it to collect Rs. 65 crores plus on Thursday. That will be a phenomenal day number.” He observed, “The performance of the previous film of an actor matters a lot when it comes to the advance ticket sales of his next film. After Pathaan, there’s no looking back for Shah Rukh Khan.”

Girish Johar, producer and film business analyst said, “If I talk about the weekend, it’ll collect Rs. 300-350 GBOC gross for all languages. Janmashtami is a big holiday in the North and hence, Jawan will benefit. It’ll collect Rs. 100 crores on day 1 worldwide gross.”

Vishek Chauhan is hoping Jawan crosses the century mark on its day of release, “I want a Hindi film to do Rs. 100 crore net business on Day 1 so that it gives the right direction and hope, it inspires exhibitors to open their cinemas and it motivates producers to make this kind of cinema.”

Pathaan is currently the biggest Hindi grosser as it collected Rs. 543.05 crores nett in India. Taran Adarsh, Girish Johar and Vishek Chauhan confessed that Jawan has all the chances to go past this number. Raj Bansal, however, said, “It’ll be too early to comment because it depends on content. The music hasn’t worked as expected. The songs aren’t chartbusters.”

Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani selected for Busan International Film Festival 2023

The much-appreciated Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles has been selected for the Busan International Film Festival 2023. The film, helmed by Karan Johar, has been selected in the Open Cinema section. It is one of the five movies in the section which includes France’s Dogman and The Animal Kingdom, Japan’s Revolver Lily, and Hong Kong’s One More Chance. The program schedule is yet to be announced.

The Busan International Film Festival has grown from Korea's first international film festival to Korea's largest and has become a film festival loved by many filmmakers and audiences not only in Asia but also in the world. The 2023 festival will commence on October 4 and conclude on October 13, 2023. A total of 269 films will be screened this year.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani marked the return of Karan Johar as a director after seven years. The film has received a positive response across the board. The film also stars Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir and Anjali Anand. However, Pooja’s calm reply left her fans surprised, who further appreciated her for handling the entire situation like a ‘queen’.

EXCLUSIVE: Bhoot Police sequel announced; Akshai Puri’s 12th Street Entertainment also acquires remake requires of Tamil neo-noir Aaranya Kaandam

With Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma starrer Jaane Jaan set to release on September 21 on Netflix, production house 12th Street Entertainment is ready to take us for another thrilling ride. While their upcoming slate is packed, the production house is thrilled to be working on several projects. Amongst them is the sequel to Bhoot Police. The sequel, which has been in the works, has been officially announced by the producer.

Bhoot Police released in 2021 and stars Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam. It was directed by Pawan Kripalani. The horror-comedy is now getting a second installment. However, the cast and the other details are under wraps. Back in October 2022, Saif Ali Khan told Bollywood Hungama, “I loved the script and I liked my role in Bhoot Police. It continues to be one of the most watched films on that platform, and they are very keen to do a sequel.”

Additionally, 12th Street Entertainment is also gearing up for the remake of the 2010 South Indian neo-noir film Aaranya Kaandam. The Tamil-language crime drama, written and directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, stars Jackie Shroff, Ravi Krishna, Sampath Raj, Yasmin Ponnappa, Guru Somasundaram and Master Vasanth. The film was released in 2010.

With successful films like Badla, directed by Sujoy Ghosh and starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, and Gaslight, a psychological thriller starring Sara Ali Khan, Vikrant Massey and Chitrangada Singh in its repertoire, producer Akshai Puri is currently gearing up for several projects.
