Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s decision to go into his next project, a remake of the 1952 classic Baiju Bawra has aroused a whole lot healthy curiosity in the audience. That it would be a musical opus in the grand style of Bhansali’s Devdas goes without saying. The question is who would play the two main protagonists, the musical legend Tansen and the protégée Baiju, who outdoes his mentor thereby incurring his mentor’s jealous wrath. Sources say Bhansali has offered the parts of the mentor and pupil to Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh. While Ranveer is fine with playing the passionate musical prodigy Baiju, Devgn apparently has reservations about playing the legendary Tansen. Sources say he has been there, done it before. “In Vipul Shah’s London Dreams in 2009 Devgn played the jealous musician who feels threatened by his friend Salman Khan’s talent. Devgn is not keen to be seen in the space again,” says an informed source. In the original Baiju Bawra in 1952, Surendra had played Tansen and Bharat Bhushan had played Baiju. The Oscar-winning Hollywood film Amadeus is also based on the same story of two talented musicians, the mentor being outdistanced by the pupil. The challenge for Sanjay Bhansali is to create a semi-classical music score to rival Naushad’s monumental score in Baiju Bawra. The original had imperishable classic songs like ‘Tu Ganga Mauj Main Jamuna Ka Dhara’, ‘Oh Duniya Ke Rakhwale’, ‘Man Tarpat Hari Darshan Ko Aaj’ and ‘Bachpan Ki Mohabbat Ko’.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui assures Thackeray sequel is in works

Nawazuddin Siddiqui won accolades for his portrayal of the late Shiva Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray in Sanjay Raut’s produced film titled Thackeray. During the announcement itself, it was revealed that the Abhijit Panse directorial will be two-part film. After the film’s release, rumours were rife that the second part was shelved. But, Nawazuddin has assured that the film is currently under works. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is currently promoting Motichoor Chaknachoor, said that the initial idea was to make the film in two parts so that question to shelve the project does not arise at all. He said that the first part received a good response and the makers are currently working on the sequel script. He said that he had spoken to Sanjay Raut a few months ago and the producer assured that the second part is in works. While there is no confirmed timeline for the sequel, Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared that the makers were busy with the elections and he is tied up with his films. Since it would require him to get into the skin of the character again, it will take time before the sequel happens. On the work front, Nawazuddin is awaiting his next release Motichoor Chaknachoor, a wedding comedy that is slated for November 15th, 2019 release. He has just wrapped up Bole Chudiyan, helmed by Shamas Nawab Siddiqui. Besides these, he has eight films in his kitty among which The Serious Men, No Man’s Land, and Raat Akeli Hai are in the list to name a few.

After the news of the demise of Venus Records and Tapes owner Champak Jain, news came that actor and filmmaker Raju Mavani passed away after losing his battle to cancer. He passed away on October 31 morning. Raju Mavani was suffering from kidney ailments for years before he was diagnosed with cancer. He was fighting the disease for three years before succumbing to the disease. The cremation will take place on Friday at 6 pm at Oshiwara in Mumbai. Raju Mavani had launched Suniel Shetty in 1992 in Balwaan. Apart from producing films for Sunny Deol, Saif Ali Khan, Raveena Tandon, he had also acted in films like Sarkar, Wanted, Shootout at Wadala among others.

Sooryavanshi: Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty to shoot a grand carnival song

It seems like Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Sooryavanshi is coming to a close. The film began in May earlier this year followed by Bangkok and Hyderabad schedules. Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn, who have a cameo as Simmba and Singham, shot climax in Hyderabad earlier in October. Now, Akshay is set to wrap up the film with a grand carnival song featuring Katrina Kaif and the entire cast. The final schedule will begin in November end. The last schedule will have a lot of action-packed scenes including a car chase sequence featuring Akshay Kumar. The larger than life dance number will have the lead actors and it will be on similar lines like the title track of Golmaal Again in 2017 and Simmba in 2018. An elaborate set will be erected for the song with as many as 300 background dancers. In Sooryavanshi, Akshay Kumar is essaying the role of an ATS officer Veer Sooryavanshi. The film will be jointly produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez, Cape Of Good Films and Dharma Productions. The film is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Rohit Shetty. It is scheduled for March 2020 release.

It’s been almost a year since Shah Rukh Khan’s last release Zero. The actor was supposed to start Rakesh Sharma biopic but exited the project before it went on the floor. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting his next film announcement. With his birthday on November 2, rumours are rife that the superstar will announce not one but two films. But one thing is currently confirmed that fans will get to see him on the big screen in summer 2020. He will have a cameo in Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra. The Ayan Mukerji fantasy film is currently under production. If the reports are to be believed, Shah Rukh Khan has already allotted the dates for the film to shoot his portion. His character will be a pivotal one to help Ranbir Kapoor’s character Shiva move forward in his journey. He will shoot by the end of the year. In April 2019, Ayan Mukerji had penned a heartwarming post for Shah Rukh Khan. Ayan was an assistant director for Swades and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Calling SRK his inspiration, obsession, and idol, the filmmaker wrote, "Inspiration. Obsession. Idol. My single biggest love at the movies through my entire childhood and teenage years, leading up the highlight of my 2 assistant director experiences - Swades and KANK [Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna] - which was that I got to be in the presence of Shah Rukh Khan. And when I got very lucky, to be a stand in with him for blocking scenes (This photo is framed and put up in my house by my mother who considered it the height of my achievement obviously)." This won’t be the first time Ranbir Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan will share screen space. In 2016, SRK played Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ex-husband in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and had a cameo in the film when he meets Ranbir’s character. Alia and SRK have already worked in Dear Zindagi as a mentor and mentee. She even had a cameo in Zero. Brahmastra pair will head to Manali in November for a 15-day schedule. The film is scheduled for the summer 2020 release.

Anushka, who is often seen cheering for husband Virat Kohli and the Men in Blue, has often been at the receiving end of trolls and criticism. Her statement, on Twitter, rubbishes rumours and baseless virtual bullies at length. "My name was used for false stories to make it look like the board was being bothered for my tickets or security, etc when in reality I bought my own tickets for matches and flights and I still kept quiet," Anushka wrote, clarifying that she paid for her own ticket for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 held in England.

She also clammed at Engineer for misreporting facts. "The latest version of these ill intended lies is that I was being served tea by selectors at matches during the World Cup! Around 50 days are left for the release of what could be called as the last event film of 2019, Dabangg 3. And lead actor Salman Khan is all out to promote the film through the not-so-conventional methods. On top of that, he’s also having a blast and as a result, even his fans are an excited bunch. Today, the admirers of Salman got a nice surprise in the form of the complete audio of the title song. And that’s not all, this strategy will continue for many more days to come. A source close to the project says, “Salman Khan is very kicked about Dabangg 3 and wants to ensure it gets the right and the most unique publicity campaign so that it creates enough buzz amongst the audiences. Nowadays, the trailer of biggies usually arrives a month or 40 days before release. But for Dabangg 3, Salman Khan went the old school way and released the promo on October 23, almost two months before the film’s release, scheduled for December 20. And even here, he held simultaneous events in various cities and gave a treat to his fans. So next, he wants the film’s music to grow. Hence he decided to launch the audio of each and every song in the film. So every three days, starting from today, the Dabangg 3 team would drop a track. Hence, by mid-November, viewers will be able to listen to the complete album. This is a rarity in today’s times, when the jukebox is not out a week or even a few days before release. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is done with the heat and dust of Housefull 4. He now flies off to Serbia with director Ahmed Khan and leading man Tiger Shroff to shoot action scenes for Baaghi 3. Baaghi 3 would be the first Hindi film to be shot in Serbia. The point, we hear, is to shoot the kind of action scenes Tiger has never done before. For this purpose, the script needed rugged unexplored locations. Says Sajid, “We zeroed-in on Serbia for its freshness and virility, also because we are being provided with all support and co-operation by the country.” Apparently, it is a very big deal for the Serbian government to have such a big production house from Bollywood shooting in their country. All precautions have been taken to ensure Tiger’s security. Says Sajid, “He has a massive fan following in every country. Now after War he is a rage in every corner of the world.” The crew leaves on Wednesday for Serbia and hopes to complete major chunks of the shooting in record time. Says Sajid, “The best part of shooting abroad is there are no distractions. Like a good father accompanying his child to boarding school, I’m just going to settle the crew in Serbia and come back to Mumbai after four days.”

While he is best known for his choice of evolved work on stage and cinema as an actor, Anshuman Jha is all set to make an exception to his repertoire by turning director with a black comedy thriller titled Lord Curzon Ki Haveli. The film is written by the writer of Chauranga - Bikas Mishra who won the Best Film at MAMI 2014 and Jha was a part of the cast. The new film is expected to go on floors in the UK in January and Arjun Mathur and Tannishtha Chatterjee have been signed as one of the two principal couples in the film. Arjun has been riding high the success of his web show Made In Heaven, directed by Zoya Akhtar and this will be the next feature film that he has signed since the series. A source close to the development informs, “The film is a dark comedy inside a house that involves two couples & a Pizza Delivery Boy. Arjun and Tannishtha have been roped in to play two of the central characters, the remaining two are yet to be locked. Being an actor himself, Anshuman has a distinct vision for the characters & understands the importance of solid actors to tell his story. And both Arjun and Tannishtha fit the parts to perfection. While both of them have a certain innocence about them, they could both pass as perfect examples of anti-casting as a pair for the said role." "Since the plot is novel, the makers want to keep the highlight points in wraps. He is also in talks with two other critically and commercially acclaimed actors for the remaining two leads. Anshuman is in the process of finalising the other couple & The Delivery boy to complete the primary casting of the film.” Confirming the news, Anshuman tells us, “This is a 5 character film & each part is integral to the story. And requires ACTORS. I am grateful to Tannishtha and Arjun, whose work I admire, and excited to collaborate with them on a script which excites us all in equal measure.' February 14th, 2020 also sees the release of Jha's next as a leading man Hum Bhi Akele post which he begins shoot for Pankaj Dubey's book adaptation of 'What A Loser'.

Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani kickstarted their film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which is set to be the sequel to Akshay Kumar starrer in the month of October. The actors seemed to have Rajasthani look in the Anees Bazmee directorial. In January, they will be moving to Rajasthan and UK for a three-month schedule. Anees Bazmee was in Rajasthan last week for the recee. They plan to shoot at real locations in London and Rajasthan. But, for the Mumbai schedule, a set will be constructed. During their outdoor schedule which will be three months long starting from January 2020, they will shoot the two songs - 'Hare Ram Hare Ram' and 'Ami Je Tomar'. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Krishan Kumar under the banner of T-Series and Cine1 Studios. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film is written by Farhad Samji and Aakash Kaushik.  Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is scheduled to release on July 31st, 2020.

Keeping this in mind, the director of John's upcoming film Mumbai Saga gifted him an all-black limited edition Isuzu Dmax V-Cross pick-up truck as a token of appreciation. The vehicle is said to be priced at Rs 30 lakhs. Director Sanjay Gupta while speaking to a media house said that he has not seen a person who is more enthusiastic about cars and bikes as John is. He said that John has an impressive fleet of cars and bikes. He bought him a pick-up truck after he noticed that it was missing from his collection. Talking about John's reaction after seeing the truck, he said that the actor was shocked when he saw it parked on the premise. In 2013, John Abraham has gifted a superbike to Sanjay Gupta forgiving him defining the film in Shootout at Wadala. Mumbai Saga marks the third collaboration with the actor after Zinda and Shootout at Wadala. The makers have completed shooting a major chunk of the film. The film also features Emraan Hashmi. Talking about John's character, Gupta said that he will be sporting four different looks in the film and will be sporting a muscular look for the next schedule of the film. Set in Lucknow, a historic city with a unique cultural identity, Gulabo Sitabo is about landlords and tenants, and their timeless love-hate relationship. It portrays the quarrels that a domineering landlord often has with a submissive tenant, leading to hilarious situations. Amitabh Bachchan, sporting a prosthetically created unusual look plays the rambunctious landlord here, and Ayushmann the tenant. Ayushmann Khurrana wrapped up the shoot of the film in just 22 days. This is the first time Ayushmann will be seen sharing the screen with Amitabh Bachchan in a film directed by Shoojit Sircar, who also directed his debut film Vicky Donor. Earlier we had reported that Saif Ali Khan will be seen playing a dad in his 40s to debutant Alaia Furniturewala in Jawaani Jaaneman. In fact, we had told you that the film’s plot revolves around Saif’s relationship with his daughter and that the film would also feature Tabu in a pivotal role. Now we hear that Jawaani Jaaneman that was already shot and slated to release on November 29 with Jackky Baghnani and Jay Shewakramani as their producers has been postponed. If what we hear is true, then apparently, the release of Jawaani Jaaneman has been pushed to next year due to reasons unknown. Revealing details on the same a source close to the project said, “The director needs to shoot a promotional song for the film with Saif that also require him to don a particular look. However, Saif is currently shooting for his next web series Tandav and has a packed schedule. Because of this the movie has been pushed from Nov 29.” The source could not disclose further details and hence, we will have to wait to see what the makers decide. Saif Ali Khan and Tabu are reuniting on screen after Hum Saath Saath Hain with Jawaani Jaaneman.

The couple visited them at 8 am and were there at the hospital till 4 pm. Nitya Mehra worked as assistant director on projects like The Life Of Pi and The Reluctant Fundamentalist before getting her first directorial job. She directed Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif starrer Baar Baar Dekho.

It’s a moment of great pride and honour for Yami Gautam who has been chosen by the Himachal Pradesh Government to be the brand ambassador of the Rising Himachal Global Investors’ Meet 2019. The event is all set to take place on November 7 and 8 in Dharamshala. The state government had been in talks with the actress for a few weeks. The authorities were actively seeking out Himachalis who have kept close to their roots even while they have gone out into the world and become notable names in their respective fields. Talking about the event, she says, “I am thrilled that the State Government thought of me for this event. Though the event is close on the heels of my release Bala, I will wrap up my promotions in time to be at the event. As a proud Himachali, I see boundless promise in this event and hope it goes a long way in making the state self-sufficient, independent and strong in terms of infrastructure. Personally, I am looking forward to interacting with some great business minds from across the world and get inspired to take my personal dreams to the next level.” Yami Gautam is the only Bollywood name to be present at the event that will be hosting international investors from over 40 countries. Having herself invested in building an eco-friendly farm in her family village Bilaspur, the actress hopes to pursue organic farming in a big way and promotes the minimalization of fertilizers. Her interest in the event was piqued even more because she is keen to expand her farm to realize her larger dream of bringing to Himachal fresh produce and chemical-free vegetables.

After the success of Poster Boys with Deol brothers, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, Shreyas Talpade is back with his second directorial venture SarCar ki Seva Mein! Inspired from a real-life incident, the film is a roller coaster laugh riot journey with a deep-rooted social message which makes the film relevant and topical in contemporary times. Set in a small town in UP the actor/director will finish the film in one schedule. “It’s a logistical challenge to shoot most part of the film on the streets of small-town India but an honest story like this can’t be told in any other way," feels Shreyas. Shah Rukh Khan rescues Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's manager during an unfortunate fire incident

The Diwali bash at Bachchan residence is always the highlight of the year. Every year, Amitabh Bachchan and family host a grand party and invite A-listers from the industry during the festive season. But, an unfortunate accident happened at Bachchan's party recently.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's longtime manager Archana Sadanand escaped a fire accident during the Diwali party and was rescued by Shah Rukh Khan. The manager's lehenga caught fire due to a diya. While others were stunned, it was quick thinking by SRK who helped put out the fire with a jacket. While Archana Sadanand suffered 15 percent burn injuries, SRK too had minor injuries.

As of now, Archana Sadanand is recuperating in Nanavati Hospital. She has been kept in ICU to avoid infections. She was admitted at the wee hours on Monday and sustained 15 percent of injuries. As of now she is recovering but is kept in isolation to avoid any kind of infection. The local police recorded her statement where she admitted it was an unfortunate incident.
